What did Which? say about RAF Museum Cosford?

Which? explained what visitors can expect, saying: “Along with its collection of military aircraft, from the Dornier Do 17 to the Vulcan V Bomber, interactive exhibits ensured the museum earned full marks for engagement in our survey.

“For children, there’s an aviation-themed playground.”

The attraction has impressed visitors with some turning to Tripadvisor to share their experiences.

RAF Museum Cosford has a 5-star rating on the review site from 2,784 reviews.

One visitor said: “Battle of Britain tour was excellent – we had a knowledgeable tour guide who was able to bring the planes’ stories to life and answer our (many) questions. We’ve previously also done the Cold War tour which we would also recommend.

“The exhibits are effectively displayed and the free entry makes this a value for money day out.”

Another commented: “My son and I visited the RAF Midlands in May 2024. The museum was not far from the Cosford train station. It took a 15 minute walk to the entrance. Firstly, this museum has an incredible Cold War exhibit!

“There were so many planes, helicopters, missiles and many other historical artifacts during that timeframe. It also covers other eras but my college aged son was interested in learning more about the Cold War era.

“Secondly, my son enjoyed an engaging conversation with Henry who described the finer details of the planes on display. The front desk and gift shop staff were also so friendly! We enjoyed our visit very much!

“The only issue we had was our train was delayed and only allowed 3 hours to visit. Don’t miss this museum and plan 4-5 hours if you’re an airplane or history nut, like my son.”

Other free days out listed include the St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff (94%), National Railway Museum in York (91%), Royal Air Force Museum in London (87%) and more.
