Norfolk spot named among Britain’s best white-sand beaches

For clear blue waters and glistening sand, many people are drawn to exotic locations but one beach in Norfolk has gained national recognition for its picture-perfect look.

Holkham has been named one of Britain’s best white-sand beaches by The Telegraph.

Sitting in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the stretch of coast is no stranger to gaining accolades.

The two-mile-long beach on the Holkham Estate was described as a “broad flat expanse of pale sand backed by low dunes and pine woods”.

The article added: “In summer, wildflowers in the dunes attract butterflies while it’s also an important breeding ground for terns, oystercatchers and ringed plovers. 

“It’s an elemental sort of beach – the wind, the sea, the sky.”

The beach has been the set for many Hollywood films including the final scene of Oscar-winner Shakespeare in Love and the upcoming Deadpool 3.
