East Lancs village ranked among best places in UK to watch fireworks
The analysis by JeffBet examined some of the best-reviewed bonfire events, considering factors such as ticket prices, free entry for children, and light quality to produce the ranking.
Gisburne Park Estate, in Gisburn in the Ribble Valley, was recognised as being in an area with the second lowest light pollution on the list, which means visibility is high at this event.
According to the research, this, along with the choreographed fireworks display and live DJ afterparty, makes it ‘one of the biggest and best displays in the country’, and saw Gisburn ranked the fourth best place to watch fireworks.
Only Dunfermline, Bristol and Bishop Auckland ranked higher than the Ribble Valley village.
A spokesperson for JeffBet said: “With all the excitement of Halloween building, and with shops bringing in Christmas merchandise earlier and earlier every year, Bonfire Night can often be forgotten about until the day swiftly approaches.
“This year, many fireworks displays will take place on Saturday, November 2, meaning attendees have far less time to make plans and book tickets for an event.
“Particularly in cities, the biggest and best events almost always sell out in advance, so looking before Halloween is the best way to secure your place.
“As for picking your event, look for something outside the city to reduce light pollution.
“Whatever you want from your Bonfire Night experience, doing your research early will give you the most choice, and take the pressure off last-minute plans.”
The Gisburne Park Estate’s Bonfire Night event takes place on Saturday, November 2, at the Mill Lane venue, with tickets available at its website.
